From a Dinner Conversation to a Global Mission
It started at a dinner table in a restaurant.
My son had his laptop open, refreshing his inbox—again. Another internship rejection.
He had done everything students are told to do: study hard, build a resume, apply early, apply often. Yet the outcomes felt random. Roles were limited, responses were rare, and his confidence was quietly slipping away.
As we talked, the bigger truth became obvious.
Internships aren’t just competitive—they’re scarce. Most employers can only support a small number of interns. And as industries accelerate AI transformation, many traditional entry-level tasks are being automated or redefined. Students are applying more than ever, but the number of meaningful opportunities isn’t growing at the same pace.
That’s when we asked a simple question: If experience is needed to start a career, why doesn’t everyone have equal access to it?
That question became the foundation of Welcome Intern.
