During the internship, you will learn and apply the Welcome Intern™ Product Innovation Framework by working as part of a multidisciplinary product development team. Guided by experienced mentors and industry professionals, you will follow a structured product development process similar to those used in industry.
Throughout the internship, you will:
- Learn the Welcome Intern™ Product Innovation Framework and product development methodology.
- Work in a product development team to design a real product solution.
- Identify and evaluate real-world problems and opportunities.
- Apply the Welcome Intern™ 4A Product Idea Evaluation Framework.
- Conduct customer, market, and product research.
- Create product concepts, specifications, and design documentation.
- Develop and refine product designs through structured reviews and feedback.
- Learn industry-standard product development processes, best practices, and decision-making frameworks.
- Receive continuous mentorship to identify and de-risk design, technical, and market challenges.
- Present your work to mentors and expert review panels.
- Build a portfolio that demonstrates practical product innovation and development experience.
This hands-on experience allows students to gain practical exposure to how products are developed in industry—from opportunity discovery through product design and engineering—while working within a structured innovation framework.
